Dear supporter of UCF,
We regret that we have been compelled to postpone this year’s Starlight Safari Ball. Ticket sales have been slow, and we cannot risk the chance of the event costing us money. It has been a difficult year financially in many parts of the world, Uganda included. We would have continued to push sales but we also have a number of large projects kicking off this month, and our small staffing contingent are going to be very busy and spending long periods in the parks, where our commitment lies, thus reducing our manpower in town. As this all adds up to us being unable to guarantee the standard of social event that the ticket price and previous years’ successes demands, we felt it best to reschedule it for some time after the end of the first quarter of 2019.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and for the disappointment to some who were undoubtedly looking forward to one of the big gala events of the year. Don’t worry, we will be back. Please keep up with us on Facebook and our other media feeds as we continue to share news and successes from Uganda’s protected areas with you, as we work with Uganda Wildlife Authority to help them bring back our parks to their former glory.
Keep on the look out, in the next few days we’ll send through a short survey asking for your input on what you’d like to see at an event supporting UCF.
